I am a portrait painter living and working in Cardiff, Wales.  I have been fascinated by the human form and in particular the expressiveness of the human face for many years, and try to paint in a way that allows the character of the subject to be reflected in and complemented by the style of the painting.  I paint in a variety of styles, as can be seen from the Gallery page.

 

If you are interested in commissioning a portrait, for example of a loved-one, or friend, as a gift or as a memento and celebration, then please browse the gallery to see examples of my work, check the prices page, and then get in touch.  If executed well, a hand-painted portrait can convey more about the subject's personality than a single photograph, while at the same time paring away unnecessary or distracting background information; of course this is especially the case when the artist has more exposure to the subject than a camera, and therefore while I can and do work from photographs, I prefer to complement that with live sittings.
